| I think I'm going to keep titling my entries like this for a while, just so I have a sense of accomplishment. I'm impressed I'm writing today and my excuse for not writing last week is pretty reasonable I'd say. We were on vacation.
ahhhh.
Just let that sink in a little bit.
It really was nice. The family rented a house in the Outer Banks which I had sort of heard of but never understood what all the fuss was about. Maybe it isn't perfect everyday of the year, but it was amazing the week we went. There were people but it wasn't crowded and it was far from touristy but never gave you that "I'm in the middle of nowhere and I hope I can find a place to get clean band-aids" feeling. So yeah, it was that nice tension between away from it all and comfortably familiar. Never had the feeling that I had to go somewhere, and never felt like there wasn't something to do. This was aided mostly by a beautiful beach and waves that could be body surfed or with the aid of a board. It was really cool to see how much my nephew Matt (age 9) enjoyed riding the waves.
We brought back a few knick knacks and souvenirs but the one I'm trying to get rid of is fairly nasty sunburn. I guess it isn't too bad as far as sunburns go, but its the first one I've ever made and effort to treat which makes me more aware of the time its taking.

| Well, it's been a year since I wrote anything resembling and update and this will be brief and possibly alone. It looks like xanga has changed almost as much as I have in the last year. It took me a little while to figure out where to click so that I could update.
I am now Mr. Luke Siler and have enjoyed very much getting to know the new Mrs. Shannon Siler. We've recently crossed the one year since we were engaged mark and we'll probably hit the first year married mark by the time I update again (October).
Overall, things are going well, but learning how to be a husband after being a dateless single dude for so long is quite the adjustment. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
